Quarantine, Day 60
A Good Walk Spoiled...
And this whole Quarantine thing had been going so well for us.
Until today.
Well, today the pups decided that after 60 days Mom (Corinne Renninger Koshuta) had become too powerful a force and decided they needed to re-set the pecking order of the pack by taking her out.
While Mom was hiking with a friend they used the time proven Dumb and Dumber approach and decided to treat her like a tree that was blocking their path. Laika (Dumb) took the left flank and LuLu (Dumber) took the right flank.
Mom was stuck in the middle and as the leash wrapped tighter and tighter around her ankles there was no place for her to go but down. Luckily, she broke her fall with her hands. Unluckily, she broke her left wrist - and partially fractured her right wrist - in the fall.
Just yesterday I took a picture of Laika and LuLu sitting nicely while sharing a lead. And for an entire day I thought I had captured a scene of them acting responsibly by practicing their social distancing skills.
Little did I know that what I had captured was them planning and practicing their dastardly deed.
Obviously, in the big scheme of things this is a minor setback.
Corinne is a trooper and she will bounce back. She has done it before and she will do it again.
The staff at the ER were great and we got to see firsthand how they have adapted their processes to deal with the combination of regular ER injuries and COVID-19 cases.
A big shout out to Reston Hospital Center ER staff. Thank you so much for what you do. Stay Safe...
